Workshop Fun at RWA National

Michelle and I presented our workshop today at 2 PM at the RWA National Conference and I feel like it went well. I only wish we could have had another 30 minutes! There were so many tidbits we didn’t get time to share, darnit! We had great audience questions and that made me happy. I also had one kind woman come up to me after the workshop and tell me that we made the concept understandable for her and she’s not afraid to tackle a site now. Hooray!
My plan is to add several more helpful topics and tidbits to my website next week. In addition, some of the questions we received from the audience were excellent ideas for further information. Topics I plan to cover soon:
- How (exactly) to point your domain name to your free blog
- Exact details of signing up for a free Wordpress.com or Blogger.com account
- How often should you post to your blog or update your website

I loved the workshop and thank you both soooo much! I rushed home tonight and am setting up a page through wordpress. Already!! Wow. Cool.

Umm … I just clicked on the link in my previous post and it didn’t go through to my new wordpress page. So in case you want to see the page I’m working on (thanks to you) try dianefarr.wordpress.com. NameSecure tells me it could take several days to get the redirect thingy squared away.

Yes, sometimes the name redirect can take a bit. Maybe 12-36 hours.

OMG, this is so much fun. Check out my “The Books” page — I’m thrilled! I’ve wanted for YEARS to have a web site where people could click on book covers and whatnot. I am so grateful to you and Michelle for turning me on to wordpress!!!

The RWA Workshop on creating a web presence was one of the highlights. Well done!
I knew I needed to do it, but was quite apprehensive. Many thanks to you and Michelle McGinnis for presenting it in such a way that I could face it, and actually do it! You changed it from formidable to possible!
